November 7th, 1998 @ New River Valley Speedway in Radford Virginia by Chris
I saw Candlebox along with Jimmie's Chicken Shack and 3 other bands on November 7th at the New River Valley Speedway in Radford Virginia. It was one of the best shows I had ever seen before. They (Candlebox) seemed really hyped for some reason or another and kept mentioning that "we are glad you've stuck with us over the years... it's been great.. thanks" so I guessed that this area had helped them out in the past. Regardless, the show kicked ass. They played alot of their 'hit' songs exactly as they are played on the albums. Being a guitar player and having an ear for the songs, I was absolutely blow away at the accuracy the songs were being played live. Usually bands are great on cds, but terrible live, so I was very pleased. I also met Rebecca from the Real World Seattle in the crowd. All in all, Candlebox was the best concert I've ever been too. By the way, this is the only band I've ever been able to crowd surf and mosh.. during the same song. It was intense!
